Summer READING, Watching, and Eating

Reading: I finished The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss. It's the second book of a trilogy, and the third book is due out in 2016. It will definitely be on my reading list. I've really enjoyed this series although book two left a lot of loose ends that will need to be tidied up in book three.

I also read Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Very intriguing and very different! I really enjoyed it. Thanks to [Unknown LJ tag] for the recommendation.

And I've been reading Jack/Daniel ficathon stories as well as Off-world Soup stories. Between those two things, our fandom posted 50 new stories. We are an awesome group!

Watching: I've lost interest in both Poldark and The Astronauts Wives Club. But I watched all three seasons of Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom in a week. I don't think the series isn't as good as The West Wing, but still very compelling.

Eating: Homemade vegetable soup and fresh tomatoes from my garden.

When West Wing was good, it was simply luminous! That, and Midsomer Murders, are my go-to Netflix shows.

The first few seasons of West Wing are amazing. I haven't caught up to Midsomer Murders yet. It's on my list.

I have watched all of Inspector Lewis, which I find to be a little uneven, but there are a few episodes I watch over and over.

MM has the best of what i watch British mysteries for: clever coppers, quirky characters and stunning English settings.

WW tanked after Aaron Sorkin left.

I love quirky characters!

I watched all of West Wing because I was invested in the characters, but the last couple of seasons weren't the same. I need another show to love.

I am down to just a few shows that i watch faithfully. Ncis, will probably never quit that show. Criminal Minds came close to losing me a couple of seasons ago. Big Bang Theory is the only sitcom i watch. Nashville is my trashy guilty pleasure. Sherlock and Downton Abbey, when they finally return.
Hawaii 5-0 and Bones have lost me, i just don't enjoy them any more.
Stargate, when i can catch it on a local station or on Amazon.
